What would Arthur do?

Prosecute. That is exactly what Arthur Branch would do to former Dick Cheney go-to-guy and convicted felon Scooter Libby. Fred Thompson is doing just the opposite. He has helped raise millions of dollars for Libby's defense fund. In addition to helping raise money for Libby, Thompson also sits on the fund's advisory committee.

After Libby was convicted on two counts of perjury, one of obstruction of justice, and one of making false statements to federal investigators, Libby's attorneys stated that they would seek a new trial. If that proved unsuccessful, they plan to appeal the jury's verdict. Fred Dalton Thompson continues to actively raise millions of dollars to aid in Libby's defense.

There has been speculation that President Bush would pardon Libby. Fred Thompson has stated he would pardon Libby. I doubt many Americans want a President who is discussing the pardons he would make before he even gets elected, much less pardons for former high ranking political appointees. Arthur Branch would not have taken these kind of partisan political stances in favor of someone who was in a position to have a great amount of influence about the direction of the country. Branch would have stood up and done what was right...prosecute.

Take 2

It appears that Fred Dalton Thompson is indeed one of Hollywood's own. In a recent speech to the Lincoln Club of Orange County, California, potential presidential candidate Thompson did not quite live up to expectations. Many critics have said his speech was lackluster at best. Now, like any good actor, he wants to give it another try...a second take, if you will.

Arthur Branch, I mean Fred Thompson, is apparently going to deliver "Stump Speech 2.0" this weekend to a group in Northern Virginia. This speech will, advisors have said, be much tighter and have a sharper message than version 1.0.

It seems that the American people have caught just a glimpse of the actor Fred Dalton Thompson. Like most actors, he needs a couple of takes to deliver the line just right. I have a feeling that the American people would not be happy with a President that needs a second take to get it right...especially when it comes to healthcare or the economy or the ongoing war on terror or the many other daily issues the President must face. On the other hand, 9 millions viewers weekly have proven they have no problem with the two or three takes that Fred Dalton Thompson has to go through to deliver the perfect line while becoming Arthur Branch. America KNOWS Arthur Branch

Americans do not know Fred Thompson, but they know Arthur Branch.

In a recent USA TODAY/Gallup Poll 50% of Americans said they had never heard of Fred Thompson.

Fred Thompson on Abortion

New Yorkers do not care if there District Attorney is pro-choice, however millions of Republicans might be upset by a candidate who took this kind of liberal position.

The following video (obviously showing Freddie Thompson as pro-choice) combined with this survey, where under abortion Thompson checked the box for: "Abortions should be legal in all circumstances as long as the procedure is completed within the first trimester of the pregnancy." is just another reason to keep America's favorite District Attorney right were he belongs...on NBC, Friday's at 10/9c.
